Hello all I am looking to update my current pc however not 100% which way to go as most effective upgrade.

Current build:

I7-7700k oc 4.9ghz
MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon
Samsung 850 Evo Sata SSD 500gb
Seagate barracuda 2tb sshd
Corsair Vengeance LPX 2 x 8g DDR4 3000
GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition
Noctua NH-D15 cooler
Corsair CXM 750 watt 80 bronze (pretty sure this is right)
Phantek Ethoo Pro series case

Was looking at upgrading following components

7700k to i9 10850/ryzen 3900 not sure which
Z270 to MSI Z490 gaming carbon wifi (keeping with MSI super nice and helpful)
1080 to 3070 when available at reasonable price

Then reuse rest for now? Trying to keep upgrade 1500 or less. Would upgrades be worthwhile cause really current build does well at most aside gpu.. Thank you for you input and time!

You have an AMD Ryzen 3900 listed for an upgrade yet the Z490 boards are for Intel 10th gen Comet Lake cpu's.

Sorry thought I had typed that in.. would be looking at the MSI MPG X570 Gaming Pro Carbon in event the 3900x was better than 10850

You say your build does fairly well still, if thats the case then it would be a waste of money to upgrade it at this time.
Not only do you not stand to gain much, but components are extremely hard to find at a reasonable price these days.

That is where my concern lied.. it was looking like not gaining much outside of multicore, and wasn't too sure how much those gains will help in gaming? However I'm not that competent in how well all the new processors are really doing vs 3 y.o. chips. My best guess was these two might be worth upgrade if on sale? Also that the gains to a 3070 vs the 1080 would be worth it if ever appropriately priced card came available?
