Hi, I am having major trouble seeing whether my two laptop LCD screens are compatible. I have a working LG Screen (LP156WH4) from an old Acer Aspire 5750 and a cracked LG Screen (LP156WH3) from a Sony Vaio E-Series. When i installed the the 'WH4' into the Vaio, the backlight turn on but there is no display. The connectors are the exact same. The Vaio also outputs the display fine via HDMI. Screen fitment will also be an issue as the display cables are in different places but i dont mind so long as i have a working screen!
Thanks in advance, Stephen

Yeah, that might be the reason one ise listed as a WH4 and the other as a WH3, might be different power requirements and thus not enough or even just the wiring may be different for the video output. Your best solution is either get a exact same screen from someone reputable (say parts from a Ebay sale) or do as we did and place the laptop as a 'desktop' case and just run everything off it like it was a desktop case.

Only other solution is a new laptop (they are very cheap, as low as $249 Laptop i3 from Walmart) that work just nicely unless you have specific demands of them (i.e. can't weight more then 1lb, needs to run three external displays , etc.)
