Help with screen display?

So I just set up my new computer and my monitor is the Acer H236hl bid. My problem is everything on it is the same as a youtube video being 480p. The only exception is the monitor menu where you can change some of its settings using the monitor buttons. The menu is crystal clear. I've tried changing screen resolutions and doesn't help 🙁

My system specs are:

MSI z170pc mate
i5-6600k
EVGA GTX 960
8gb Vengeance Pro Ram

I'm using a HDMI cable which is connected to some sort of adapter which is then connected to my video card. The adapter came with the video card.

What do you mean HDMI with adapter? both should have HDMI.

My bad I explained wrong about the connecters, there is the HDMI cord, then a blue one with screws and a white one with screws which are all attatched between the monitor and video card. The blue one with screws has to be put on some adaptor which I put on the video card. Same way a power adaptor works

You only need one connection. either use the HDMI or the DVI cable. don't need anything else.
The screen shot look ok, so the problem is your monitor/connection.

Woo it worked, I took out all cables but the HDMI and now its clear 😀
