Help with system

Hello! My little brother is looking for a new computer he could use to play games. (The one he owns RN is awful and can't even handle Google... X_X) Would this older Asus computer work decently for AAA titles on Low/Medium Graphics?

Intel i5- 3450, 2x3.1 GHz,
Nvidia GTX550 graphics card 1 GB
8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz
1 TB hard drive

It will play games at low settings especially at 720p, though it will struggle at 1080p on anything above low settings and even then it will still not be great. An upgrade to something like at GTX 1050 would ultimately be better or pick up a second hand one of ebay at the 1050ti or above or a radeon equivalent like an older RX470 / 480.
