I use my system for working with Excel spreadsheets, minor publishing (creating newsletters, posters etc) and messing around with Gimp and Irfanview. I also use it to play games on a WII. I want to start getting into the more serious PC games that are offline so I am upgrading my system. I have already ordered 16GB memory and a GTX 1660 video card. I'm looking for a decent monitor under $400 if there is such a thing.
Current system specs:
Maximus VI Hero motherboard
3.50 gigahertz Intel Core i7-4770K
8gb mem, Multi-core (4 total), Hyper-threaded (8 total)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
Acer G236HL 23" Full HD widescreen LCD - 1920 x 1080 resolution
Corsair 650 watt power supply
I have ordered 16GB memory and a Gigabyte Gv-N1660OC-6GD GeForce GTX 1660 OC 6G Graphics Card, to replace the GTX760
I currently am looking at the Samsung - CRG5 Series 27" LED Curved FHD G-Sync Monitor. BestBuy has it for $399. The link is:
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsun...onitor-dark-blue-gray/6366122.p?skuId=6366122
The refresh rate is 240Hz. I am concerned about the Max Resolution 1920x1080. Will this be ok for most games or should I look for something better? Also, is there a better G-Sync monitor for less than $400 that anyone recommends? I am assuming the monitor has to be G-Sync based on the video card I bought.
One thing that bothers me is the connectivity. It has zero DVI and VGA ports and has 2 HDMI Inputs.
Although I am mainly looking for help with the monitor, I welcome any suggestions/comments on what I have planned to upgrade. Will it be enough, or do I need more, or anything else you can think of. I haven't installed anything yet so I can always send stuff back if I need to.
Thanks,
Zeek
