Help with upgrading PC for gaming

So before anyone judges me, I don't have the extra cash for a big time gaming PC like I helped my girlfriend put together. So I'm working with her old PC which was just a work horse. But I still want to try out a little PC gaming and it actually runs most things pretty well with low graphics.

So what I'm working with is a ASUS M32AD Desktop.
> i7-4790S
> Nvidia GeForce GTX 750
> 12GB @ 1600 MHz (Max is 16 @ 1600 MHz)
> 2TB HHD
> 300w Power Supply

First thing I'm doing is putting an SSD in it. That's a no brainer.

Second thing I'm looking at is a better graphics card. I know this thing isn't worth putting a lot in it, but I'm just wanting something low cost that can run a few games for awhile on lower settings until I decide to dump 3k in a build.

Cards I was looking at was either the single fan 1050 ti sc or possibly a 1060... I do have a bigger case and a 750w power supply in an older machine I can use if I need to. But I guess I was leaning towards the 4GB 1050 ti just because I can get one around 150.00 and it would keep the upgrades from costing over 400. But wanted someones opinion who knows more about this.

Thanks in advanced for any help

Solution
Your Cpu is still good and capable of running any game.
WIth a new gpu (1050 ti) you will be able to play new games at med/high 1080p easily.(mine runs games like pubg smoothly with worse cpu)

So in my opinion a 1050ti and a SSD will do the job.

Ok, good deal, I thought I'd be ok but I'm still pretty new at this. Been out of the PC loop for awhile due to playing cheaper on consoles and being a Mac guy for my design work. Right now I have a 1080p monitor I'm using. I'd rather run a 2K monitor, but unless my adapter works for making my iMac a monitor I'll probably stick to the 24 inch 1080p one I have now.

Thanks for the quick response!
