hi all. I just got the Lian-Li Strimer Plus 24-Pin Extension Cable.

One of my friends mentioned that it is not advised to overclock my system due to power delivery is less.
So from what I understand that 12V rail will deliver 11.9v or 11.8V and using extension cables will deliver only 11.6~11.4V.

I am not sure if that this true or not.
can you please advise on this matter?

Solution
There will always be a loss when using extensions.
But a good quality extension firmly inserted should not be a problem.
Lian li Is known for quality cases, I imagine that their other products are good also.
Do you have a problem with the 24 pin cable length?

I think there are better ways to get some RGB Bling than by using an extension.

The CPU overclocking is more on the CPU power cable not the 24 pin the same with the video card PCI-E power connector. Memory draws so little watts it don't matter.

In general a lot of people frown on using extensions because any time you add a extra connector or extra wire you lose a bit of the volts you originally had. In general it's not enough to make a difference.
