Hello,

I hope this post finds everyone well.

I'm new here and an ex-IT guy who fell behind on all the current technology.

I have an older PC (Gateway System Model E6610) and want to upgrade to a HDMI compatible video card with an additional VGA port. I need a dual monitor set-up for my work.

I don't need anything fancy like a gaming card and really don't want anything special. Cheap is better as I intend on replacing the computer within 6 months. Research has shown that the PSU may be a factor and that different E6610's had different wattage supply's (400W and 700W). I'm not sure how to tell which one mine has.

I just need something to get me by so I can run my HDTV and an old VGA monitor at the same time...until I can afford a new computer.

I realize that this also has something to do with the expansion slot on the motherboard but that's where my knowledge stops.

Any help would be sincerely appreciated as I need this for my job ASAP.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Frankly, I might wind up buying a used one for $20 on eBay. I really just need something cheap to tide me over. As long as it fits in the case I'm good. Should I measure the card at the back of the PC?

Dang. Sorry for the trouble but I don't think I need it. I looked again and there is a DVI-I port on the back as well as VGA...so I just bought a couple of adapters for my purpose. Thanks so much for responding though. I sincerely appreciate it!
