hey everyone,

I'm not really sure where I should post this so I'm sorry if I post this in the wrong place.

I'm trying to find what motherboard and cpu that I should buy. I don't have a preference for either AMD or Intel motherboards so i would be fine with getting anyone of them.

Currently I have an asus m3a32 mvp deluxe motherboard with an amd athlon x2 7750z cpu and the reason why I want to change them is because whenever the computer gets put under load the screen goes black(it goes other colors too like orange with horizontal lines, blue with horizontal lines etc). I have changed the graphic card and gotten a new power supply but the issue is still there. I have also tested the RAM and the harddrive and all of that tested fine without errors(also tested RAM one stick at a time). I RMA'd my motherboard and got it back but the problem still persists.

At this point I have no idea what else to do except get a new motherboard and cpu -_-

Here's what my computer currently has:
ASUS 790FX M3A32-MVP DELUXE
AMD ATHLON X2 2.70GHZ 7750Z
4x1GB DDR2 PC2-6400 U-DIMM 800MHZ
1xSEAGATE 250GB SATA 7200RPM 16MB HDD
1x ATI RADEON HD 6870 1GB
CORSAIR 750AX PSU
1x DVD DRIVE
HAF X CASE

For budget I think the most I can spend is like $400ish.
Also this is a gaming build.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Did you swap out the CPU? That could be the culprit...

Anyways is this a gaming build? If so you could go for the i5 3570k and the ASRock Extreme 4.

Edit: You will also need to change the RAM to DDR3.

Thank you for your reply :)
No I haven't swapped the cpu with another one since I don't have another cpu to swap it with. I was thinking if it was the cpu then I'd be better off just getting a new motherboard, cpu and RAM.
I'll check out the i5 3570k and ASRock Extreme 4.

Which ASRock Extreme 4? I was looking on newegg and there seemed to be a few different Extreme 4s.
Could you possible give me a link to the one you are talking about?

Also any suggestions for an AMD setup? what about a different motherboard for the intel setup since apparently the its bigger then a micro-atx but smaller then an atx form factor? the case that I have is a HAF X btw

I won't forget the DDR3 ram haha

Thanks for letting me know though :)

damn that sucks...
if the closest one was a few citys away
then id take the metra and enjoy the view along the way and get the chip but the next best
price is newegg i guess....

or wait till the haswell lineup comes out and either get those or get the ivys at a lower price

The closest one to me is 5 hours away so driving or taking the train there and back would cost more then the lower price would save me.
Ya I'm thinking of possibly waiting till the new intels comeout
