For the life of me, I can't figure out what is going on. Just one of my computers is not working, and it's using the same router as the other two. All 3 computers are hard wired to the router, so maybe it is another issue, but several website pages take forever to load, Tom's Hardware login screen one of them for example. Many other web pages load instantly so it's really confusing me.

What I have done so far on my win7 64 bit home edition pc is.

1 ccleaner
2. uninstall all browers and resinstall. (problem is persisting with all browsers)
3. uninstalling all add ons and extensions
4. unchecked hard drive acceleration

still, this one pc has problems with some websites that no other pc has problems with. Any thoughts to try and trouble shoot this? I need to start somewhere. Obviously, somewhere, somehow, something is making it hard to load certain pages.

Solution
No point paying them unless absolutely needed. Couple of things you need to do from here.
> Call your ISP again and talk to their tech. support. Discuss the bandwidth allocation per device and see if all the settings are ok.
> Try another connection. A wi-fi dongle maybe and see whether the issue persists. This way you could be certain that its your computer problem
> Visit a professional store in your vicinity and let them diagnose the pc. Ideally they wont charge to diagnose the issue, rather they will charge to fix the issue. But you will get the idea, where to look.

I did two scans, a quick scan with Avast and another with Malwarebytes but avast was a quick scan. I'll try the full scan and see if it finds something, thanks.

I'm also going to uninstall programs I don't use and noticed yahoo messenger does not show up in add or remove programs so is there a trick to uninstall it fully? It does show up in Start>Programs so it is in my system.

If possible try something better. AVAST is normally garbage for a scanner. I use NOD32,or Kapersky. Either of those may have a free scanner you can load to a DVD to use to scan.

I've always liked malwarebytes. I use ccleaner always and I wonder if things started going haywire when I used cc to clean my registry? Normally I don't do that, but I read it is pretty safe, but it could be my problems started in that time but I am not sure. Because I have a small SSD running OS and everything else, I did not allocate any space for windows restore and I regret that now.

Yes, I should have known better but this is so frustrating that I might just do a fresh install and be done with it. I think the problems started when I was forced to download IE10 so that a new adobe form filler could be used. Had no choice as the Adobe reader is not available for linux and my linux pc is my main computer . I never ever use IE but this time I was forced too.

I left IE years ago. Firefox or Chrome for me. Ironically enough I did use CC cleaner about 7 or 8 years ago. After it broke my registry a couple of times I moved away from it into a full antivirus package.
I would recommend you make a backup of your registry from now on before you use it.

I use Libre Office too, but for a particular form that needs to be filled in, only Adobe Acrobat Reader DC can be used which is not available on Linux.

You gave me an idea. I never used CCleaner to clean my registry until a little while ago and come to think of it, that is when my problems started with the issue of certain webpages not loading. I should have made a back up of the registry before using it but did not. This could be the source of all my problems and why it's so hard to figure out. Never used the registry cleaner on my other pc with the same settings and everything is perfect. As for my linx pc, it just runs and runs without any issues at all.

My biggest regret in life is not using Linux sooner 😀 It's such a reliable and fun system. Have to give credit to microsoft though for making most people on this planet believe you have to pay for an operating system!

That is why windows will always be around. Linux has a little learning curve and with so many distros, many people are spooked by it. Never used Windows VM but I know a lot of people are using it on Linux systems.

Another thing I tried is changing DNS to google and OpenDNS but that did not help either. Another odd thing is that when I try and upload a picture to flickr, it won't upload, it always times out on my problem pc.
