I am using windows 7 and try to download updates and files on IE and firefox and it will start off at a normal speed then get to like 1.4 and slow to a crawl and then stop i've tried everything i can think of to fix this but still can't complete a download i am using wireless

Check with your service provider, you may be in a bad spot for reception. Also make sure you use a secure wireless connection so others can't leach off yours.
