I bought a 2022 Asus M16 6 months or so ago (i9-12900k, RTX 3070ti model) and it ran extremely good for the power and size for a long time. I was getting 1600mhz out of the gpu at 70-77 degrees Celsius and the CPU temps were even lower. But recently my GPU has been thermal throttling no matter the resolution or settings or game I run. I open the game and BOOM instant 87c on the GPU and I CANNOT figure out why. It doesnt make any sense to me. The CPU temperature is still good, it hovers in the high 60s low 70s range but the GPU throttles every single time I open a game. It rarely goes its rated speed of 915mhz let alone the 1600mhz I was getting. I have taken it apart to clean the fans and vents 3-4 times taking the fans out and everything. there is not a spec of dust left inside. I have also replaced the GPU fan with another 6400rpm fan, same as the last one because the last one started buzzing so I thought that might be the issue but no. nothing I do seems to help the GPU temperature at all. The only thing I haven't tried is repasting just because there is liquid metal on the CPU and I don't want to mess with that stuff. If anyone has any ideas on what to try please let me know. Thank you.
P.S I tried setting the manual profile to no OC no dynamic boost and thermal target 87c AND sitting it in the freezer (i know thats a bad idea) to give it the absolute best chance possible to not throttle and even with everything at the minimum setting and the fans at 100% it still throttles. help
