Help!!

Hello, my computer doesn't even boot to the users or desktop it just says toshiba leading inovation then it says
A disk read error occurred
Press Ctrl+Alt+Dell to restart
and i tried F2 and F12 and did everything! is there anything i can do?

It could be a hard drive failure. Can u look if the HDD shows up in the BIOS start up?

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

You need to put a disk in the CD drive in to prove the machine is working and to get the StartUp repair options that the Vista DVD offers. Then you need to use the Command Prompt and type chkdsk c: /r (including the spaces) to run Checkdisk on your hard disk.

If you didn't get a Vista DVD with the computer, a borrowed one will carry out those functions.
