Hey guys I'm looking for a good processor for gaming that is future proof + a good gaming motherboard. I was thinking the GA-Z97-D3H with an i5 4670. I am not over clocking and I have a gtx 770 and 8gb ram. Will this be a good set up?

Itll be a nice system sure, But future proof? Nope, nothing is. Thatll last for a good 2-3 years tho.

Unfortunately my friend, there is no such thing as futureproofing. You can buy the top of the line processor in the current generation that will perform well anywhere from 2-5 years for gaming, however, future-gen games may take advantage of new processor technologies (multi-core, hyperthreading, etc.). In my opinion though, you would be more than happy going with something like an FX-8350 or i5-4670K/i7-4770K build with an appropriate chipset board. (Gigabyte, ASRock, ASUS, EVGA and MSI all make solid boards)

The Xeon costs a little more than the 4670k and has hyperthreading (like the i7) but can't be overclocked
