Hey Techies i really need your help here.. my core i5 is running slower than core2duo..

i am using Intel Core i5 680, Intel Desktop board d33025, ddr 3 ram 2x2 (4gb ) ram, with 500gb mechanical hard disk and a ati radeon 4500 1 gb, and this shit tkes ages to open any folder or any application. whereas my core2duo 2.4, 3 gb ram, with gigabyte board was much faster.. like way to fater than this crap.. i am on a verge of degrading my system .. please help me out here...

Looks more like a drive loading problem to me. Your hard drive might be wearing and it might be clogged with too many files. An SSD would be a good upgrade and fix.

cant say.. but the thing is, i used the same hard drive in my core2duo with same amount of file.. what changed was just my processor and board... and core2duo was damn faster.. what you think now?

any specific solution?? cause i guess my hd is new and good enough for a good speed.. ram 4gb might not be the best but can atleast give good speed.. checked the cpu heating.. nothing like that.. dont know about throttling
