Gpu: Gtx 1050 ti 4gb and wanna change it to gtx 1070 ti or just 1070
Cpu:Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6400 CPU @ 2.70GHz anything you guys recommended
pc specs:
Model 90DG002UUS
Product ideacentre Y700-34ISH
Region US
Machine Type 90DG
Processor Core i5-6400 (4C, 2.7 / 3.3GHz, 6MB)
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB GDDR5
Chipset Intel H170
Memory 8GBx1
Storage 1TB 7200rpm 3.5"
Optical DVD±RW
Media Reader 7-in-1
WLAN + Bluetooth 11ac, 2x2 + BT4.0
Power Supply 450W Energy Star
Operating System Windows 10 Home 64

Solution
Maybe something like an i5 7600. It's the next generation of CPU, so you would need to update the motherboard BIOS first before changing. Although it's "only" an i5 too, it has much higher clock speeds and should handle a GTX 1070 just fine.

If you're into modern gaming, then you want a faster CPU, change it first. The only reason considering the GPU first would be if you are using high resolution (1440p etc.), apart from that, you won't see much performance increase until you get a better CPU.

I'd pick between an i7 6xxx and i7 7xxx series CPU for upgrade, whichever costs less. I don't see the point going from i5 to i5 of those generations.

The main advantage of a "k" processor is in overclocking, which I don't think is something you need to worry about in that computer.

You don't see the difference between an i5-6400 and a 7600?

When it comes to gaming, it's clock speed over core/thread count that makes the real difference. An i7 isn't going to add much for pure gaming performance.
