Active yes, not sure what speed it will run at though with that 4+3 VRM

Hi Thank you for reply - it helped me decide so rather than do an incremental upgrade I may probably save my pennies and now go for a new X570 motherboard at the same time with faster memory as well. Thank you

If you're going for a X570 board look at the picture below. Higher = better VRM's.

3600MHz RAM at CAS16 in the form of 2 sticks from a kit should be fine too.

Built the system in my signature a month and a half ago. Not regretting it so far.
