Hi I'm building a new PC and I was wondering if I should get a TPM module for Bitlocker

Bitlocker is file encryption which is built into Windows 10 Professional. if you want to encrypt your PCs file system then sure.

Encryption is not for the amateur, if you don't know what it is it may be best to research it a bit and gain a deep understanding. If your PC fails and you somehow lose your encryption key, your data is effectively gone, even though its right there.

It is a type of whole volume encryption - it encrypts the whole drive.

I wouldn't, there are a lot of potential problems that can come up from it. There are a lot of simpler, easier ways to secure your stuff without the risk of bricking your system or getting errors due to locked data.

Is everything you do on your PC legal? Are there secrets that could potentially cause you loss of income if discovered? Trade Secrets? Really there is only one question you have to ask yourself -

Are you a potential victim of espionage?
