Hidden Items Checkbox Automatically Disables Itself

When I attempt to click in that check box it instantly unchecks itself, does anybody know why this is happening?

I'm running Window 10 (x64) and I've run multiple scans with Malewarebytes & Bitdefender, neither has shown any sort of problem.

Try a repair install and see if the issue is averted. Since when did the issue present itself? If after a mandatory windows update feature? Speaking of Windows, is this installation based off a licence key or the free upgrade path?

Infact it's BitDefender itself is locking down the setting:
