hello people

I would like to know is my cpu temperature too high

Im using I7-4790 (non K)
Msi z97 gaming mobo
Coolermaster hyperTX3

Idle cpu temp is around 45 °C
Browsing on web cpu temp is around 55-60 °C
Gaming around 67-73 °C

i changed from my i3 to i7 2 days ago, i never got these temperatures on my i3 though
Should i consider getting a better cooler or something ?

Thanks in advance :)

Solution

Glad we could help:) Let us know how it turns out.
Thanks on the reply guys maybe im just a little paranoid, because yesterday i was in a middle of a game (while listening to youtube in background )
and my fps dropped from 130+ to just 5 fps , whole pc started lagging so i checked the temperature and was around 77+ but as soon as i closed youtube it came back to normal

Sorry english isnt my native language but i suppose you were asking abbout the room temperature, if its that its around 21°C but it was around 28 last few days

They seem slightly warm. Those are coolers I stay away from. The pressure needed to install those push clips can sometimes be a bit scary. I agree with Alan. When I apply my thermal compound I place a half grain rice on the bottom of the heatsink and on top of the CPU. I have the CPU clam shell my CPU was shipped in(inside of the big box). I use that to evenly spread the compound from edge to edge on the CPU and slightly over the edge on the heatsink. This means I have about a long grain rice dab total. Others say pea size dab and squash with heatsink. Opinions varies and my temp right now is 32C. How many fans are affixed to the heatsink? If there is only one a second one might help. How many fans does your case have? Any empty slots? What kind of gfx card? Sometimes a poorly designed GPU cooling solution can raise the internal case temp adversely affecting the heatsink's cooling abilities. There are 4 bolts that secure my Evo. Push-clip mounts can be just as good as the bolted down type but for me I prefer bolting it down. Can you see the clips underneath your board? Are you sure they are all 100% seated?

Theres only one fan on heatsink , the case doesnt have any other fans though, should i add them ?
my gpu is amd r9 270x
and clips on the cooler are all attached correctly

I'm sorry? You say your case has zero fans? That would be the cause of your slightly high temps, if I understand you correctly. What case do you have? How many fans total does your PC have? There should be a minimum of two intake fans and one exhaust on the back of the case, dpenending on the case design.

The rear exhaust is critical to keeping a case cooler. Imagine a car without an exhaust. The side fan is up to you. That depends on fan placement. The side fan can feed more air into the case(sometimes directed at the gfx card), resulting in better positive pressure but it can also mess up the airflow from front to back. It should help but only your temps can tell you that.

BTW, that a nice case. All black. Very sleek and the cables are routed properly so that a plus that helps to keep a cool case.
