High CPU temperatures with water cooling (70°C)

Hey everybody :)
Hope this is the right subforum, similar topics are all in "Overclocking", but considering that I never overcloked any component in my build ....

Anyways, I recently got myself a Cooler Master Seidon 120v as a replacement for my stock Intel cooler (which went up to almost 85°C).

Now the problem seems to be that I can just not get a "great improvement" in temps.
Idle is about 25° to 33°, but simulating heavy load with Prime95 gives me temperatures of 78° C and that seems way to high (with the fan at 100%).

Another thing I noticed was that the air being pushed out the the rear of my case was nowhere near warm.

I already did check my thermal paste and it seemed to be well spread out.

System Specs (nothing is overclocked):
Case : Cooler Master N500
CPU : Intel i5 2500 @ 4x3.3 Ghz
Cooler : Cooler Master Seidon 120v v2
Mainboard : Intel DH67CL

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Thanks and have a nice day!

Thermal paste doesn't have to be well spread out. If you could reapply some good quality compound using the pea method, it should improve your temps at least a little. Prime95 is a torture/stability test and will guaranteed make the CPU run much hotter than it usually does underoload. What are your temperatures while you game?

NOTE: Every time you remove the water block you should always replace the compound because otherwise you get air bubbles and dust, which lowers the efficiency of the cooler.

Thanks for your answer!
While gaming I get temps of about 65° to 70° C (in Batman Arkham City, I played for 2 hours or so).

I did reapply new thermal paste when removing the block and I also used the pea method and then screwing in the screws x-wise.
I used the Cooler Master stock paste, but using high quality stuff should only make a little temperature difference and not 20 or 30 degrees, right?

Well I haven't noticed any weird noises or things like that from the pump and the blue Indicator LED is shining constantly. I also double checked the cooler mount and it sits tight, no chance of any displacement.

I'm thinking about contacting Cooler Master to see what they think of the issue :)
