[SOLVED] High cpu temps 5800x

i just bought a 5800x about a week ago. before i had a i7 6700. previously that would idle around 34 degrees. i know the new powerful cpu will be hotter but its idling around 55-60 degrees and is around 85 degrees after long gaming session (6 hours ish) when in cinebench multicore its 90 degrees the whole time. is this bad and how can i lower it. Thanks!

I’m using a admittedly pretty old 240mm wii (enermax liqfusion) I think part of the problem might be that my case doesn’t have good airflow (h510i)

That’s about as high as you want it to go. While safe those temperatures will be impacting boost speeds.

Could be the case,have you repasted the cpu?
Repaste it,it will maybe lower the temps a bit

Hmmm if it’s old it may have air in the loop which from what I read a common problem after a few years use of AIO’s.
