[SOLVED] High CPU usage with youtube chat

Using firefox. youtube livestreams or recordings of live streams with chat with cause high cpu usage (60-70%). chat off no problems.

Seems normal to me, chat overlays uses cpu

video playback is usually offloaded to graphics card's video engine

ah, my bad, it does seem odd

does this happen with chrome or just firefox?


try a different browser like chrome or edge to see if the problem is isolated to firefox

just firefox. i nailed it down to an add on "dark background light text"
