So I am working on composing a photo with A LOT of layers, and I need more. My dedicated GPU memory usage skyrockets in a matter of minutes after I start working on this photo in Affinity Photo, a program like Photoshop. After making few more layers, the program just crashes and my GPU memory usage goes back to zero. Does anyone have a solution on how to minimize my GPU usage while working with this photo?
I have:

Radeon RX580 8GB

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor with 3.59 GHz

16GB RAM

Thanks.

Is Windows managing virtual memory? Configuration?

Open Resource Monitor and select the Memory tab. At the bottom of the window is a bar graph showing the use of physical memory.

What do you see there?

In the interim, try reinstalling the GPU drivers. Manually download via the manufacturer's website. Reinstall and reconfigure.

Next, reinstall Affinity.

Hopefully just a bug or glitch in the software.
