Im looking to buy a high durability gaming mouse with sleek design for a claw grip. Please suggest a mouse under 40$ for casual gaming which will last me atleast 2-3 years. I came across 2 mice that currently fit my requirements ( Small size mouse, sleek design for claw grip FPS gaming)
- Roccat Lua
- Steelseries Kinzu v3

Are these mice mentioned above durable enough to last 2-3 years? If not please suggest other alternatives

Well, I dont know if it will suit you, but I bought the Cooler Master CM Storm Devastator bundle ( includes mouse and keyboard ) for $30.

The keyboard is excellent and so is the mouse, and claw grip is definitely possible with it. Have a look at it : http://www.amazon.com/CM-Storm-Devastator-Keyboard-Edition/dp/B00DKXXAAQ

Its been around 10 months and the keyboard and mouse are still working perfectly.

Solution

ALtough it has to be said that the Devastator Mouse is not a gaming mouse.

Well the Devastator certainly looks like one, and will be perfect if one does not need the extra side buttons.

It also allows for switching of DPI on the fly.

But its performane is on Office level thanks to its PAN 3309, massive anglesnapping, low malfunction speed and a bad Cursorpath.

Where do you find mouse reviews with such detail? Been PC gaming nearly 20 years and always used whatever mouse was on hand. Finally got a Razer Imperator and cant tell its any different than a microsoft mouse. I'm probably just bad at FPS so no mouse will change that...

Exactly! Theres not much performance difference between mice, just looks and feels.

I got one of these back when the first came out at newegg [ 8-2013] as a new item, and got to admit it exceeded my expectations -- when I get fragged I tend to slap my mouse down on the desk and mash the heck out of the buttons and its held up under me so that's so far a big plus ..

it was like 26 bucks then and now its 16$ .. if the quality is still the same as the one I got its well worth it to try

Wow. How do people get Gaming tags without knowing there's more to mice than looks and feel?

This Google Doc is a small drop in the bucket on the data for mice but at least it shows some of the objective differences. It doesn't call out angle snapping, button debounce, or cursor path for example.

woll3 is correct. I guess now I know why all the data for mice isn't on Tom's Hardware.

bad part is you buy you try ands see how it works out - 100 folks can say this is the best , but you may find its not the best for you

research - do the homework - cut through all the sales hype - understand what is what then make your best judgment call on the one that seems right for you .. in the end its all personal preference

that mouse has done all I expected and happy with it but that don't mean it will for YOU all I can do is give something to conceder to look at . the rest is all on you

You dont get my point do you?

'' just looks and feels''

I don't care about looks it can look like hammered cat crap as long as it feels right and preforms well

like that mouse I posted above its one that fits my hand well like with the thumb buttons this mouse I don't get them accidently hit a thumb button during a heated fight and get something I did not want or need that may cost me the frag, if I need the thumb button I have to move my thumb to hit to use as I need to when I want it ..

Believe it or not i've been using this Anker mouse (Amazon.com link) for 2 years heavily and it still isn't showing signs of wear. It is cheap and has the features of much more expensive mice. It has built a built in ROM to save your settings as well as Omron switches. And yes you can turn off the lighting.

I got it cause I was super poor at the time and it had good switches, that part always wears out in a month or two for me. All the buttons except the right/left click are programmable. The options are sorta limited though but (i dont have the software installed ATM) I think you can make it execute external micros. So that is the forward/back buttons, the dpi switch and the middle click are all programmable (5 buttons).

Thank you for your replies, in the end i bought CM devastator bundle and logitech g402. I have to say the logitech mouse has far superior tracker or sensor than devastator but theres something about the devastator that just feels right, maybe its the size that suits me. I am able to claw grip both mice, devastator much better so i decided to stick with devastator for now and see how it goes.

UPDATE : @Sinxas Knights, I had my mate buy the anker mouse and have to say it is perfect for FPS gaming. We both had our mice delivered today, totally satisfied, wish i could pick 2 best answers!

Glad we could help you!

Happy Gaming!
