Question High-End Gaming & 4K Video Editing PC – Looking for Optimization Tips!

Hello everyone,

After a long time, the time has come for me to upgrade my PC. As I have already received good help here in the past, I wanted to turn to you again to pick up a tip or two.

It would be great if you could help me here to optimize the parts I have selected. This is particularly important with regard to the price-performance ratio.
As I don't know the individual advantages/disadvantages in detail, I have chosen the parts to the best of my knowledge.
If you see any potential for improvement here, I would be delighted to receive your feedback

Approximate Purchase Date: April - May 2025

Budget Range: About 3.000€

System Usage from Most to Least Important:
The system should be future-oriented. I want to get back into gaming, but the computer should also be suitable for video editing with 4K raw material

Are you buying a monitor: Yes -> Dell U4025QW for Work and for Gaming

Parts to Upgrade: This is my current System:

• Mainboard: Corsair VI Hero
• CPU: Ryzen 7 1700
• Graphics card: GTX 1080
• Cooling: Corsair AiO
• Power supply: SF-650F14EG
• RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR4-3200

I want to upgrade the whole PC.

Do you need to buy OS: Yes -> WIN11

Parts Preferences: I have put together the following parts:

• Mainboard: MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI
• CPU: Ryzen 9 9950X
• Graphics card: RTX 5080 (Perhaps you have an exact suggestion for the graphics card. Which manufacturer with which features.)
• Cooling: Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420mm
• Power supply: be quiet! Dark Power 13 1200W
• RAM: 64 GB DDR5-7200 Corsair Dominator Platinum

Overclocking: Maybe

Multiple GPUs: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 5120x2160@120Hz

Additional Comments: I own a be Quiet DarkBase Pro 900, which I want to continue using. The PC should be kept in a black/orange design if possible.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading:
I would like to upgrade my system as it is getting on in years. The system can't even handle most new games in 1920x1080@60Hz. In addition, video editing is becoming more and more strenuous and using the old system significantly reduces motivation.

The sweet spot for DDR5 platforms is actually DDR5-6000MHz with tight latencies. Since you're moving with an AM5 build, you should look into a dual channel ram kit that has AMD's E.X.P.O advertised on it's packaging.

The 9800X3D is a great productivity and gaming processor, perhaps you could consider that if it's available for purchase where you're located.

You've mentioned your budget and currency but it'd help us two fold if we knew your location. Since you're located somewhere in Europe, you should also provide your preferred sites for purchase since brand and part's availability can and will vary with regards to region.
