Hello everyone,
So 2 days ago I decided to buy a liquidcooler for my Ryzen 1600 to replace the stock cooler. (The liquid cooler is the Masterliquid ml240l RGB) I installed it in my Masterbox lite 5 RGB as follows: I put the radiator to the front of the case, then in between there is the iron framework, and behind that are my fans. It did not fit perfectly so I had to use a more creative method (The radiator is not pinned down in all 8 holes, only 4 but it is still tight). Now my main problem is that my idle temperature is around 40°C. I do not think this is OK and I am not sure what the problem might be. I used the included cooler paste and put the size of a rice on my CPU. I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks in advance.

Proper layout is in at the front, it at the back and top. Your radiator has not got enough air to work with.

So what would your solution be with my case?

It's not ideal, but fans pushing into rad at the front of the case, and extraction at the back.

Could you maybe try to show an example. I am having trouble understanding, sorry.

"turn the rad around so that the fans are sucking air from the outside blowing it through the rad and into the case"
thats it doing right now?

I made an image again trying to show how it exactly works.

So from left to right:
Radiator > case > fans, fans push in air from the right to the left through the case in to the radiator into the rest of the case. There is a small intake hole at the top of my case, the glass in front is placed diagonally so that a hole is left open at the top.

No, since it was impossible to do that, because the fans on the front of the case can't be installed when the radiator is installed, and the other way around, since the screws both need to go the other way.

What would be possible I think is mounting the fans on to the rad, and then mount the rad onto the front panel, with the fans pointing towards the inside of my case. However then there is only 1 fan left in front of the case.

That's the problem then, it's hard enough to push air through rads that the fans need to be right next to them.

So what would be the best way to mount my cooler in my case? (Masterbox lite 5 RGB)

Ok, so what would be the solution in my case?

Try mounting 2 additional fans to the back of the radiator, in a air "pull" configuration.

So essentially, you'll be pushing air from the front intake mounted fans as they are currently, and the fans mounted directly to the back of the radiator will pull that air through. Its not ideal, but you will gain back some efficiency. Try that.

Ok, thanks! i'l try that. I do not think I have enough of those long screws tho..

BTW, Is there no "normal" way to mount it in my case? Seems weird that I need to use all these tricks to "try and make it work".
