Hi, I've just got a new motherboard and graphics card for my pc and have noticed minecraft is running horridly for some reason. I'm only getting about 40-60 fps with these specs:

Intel i5 4670K
AMD Radeon R9 390
8Gb DDR3 Ram
Z97-G45 Gaming Mobo
1920x1080p monitor at 144hz

I get 60+ fps on every new game such as fallout 4, bo3, etc.. so I suspect it's something with java. I don't play minecraft that much but if anyone could help me fix this issue that would be great. I'm using the latest version of java 64 BIT and have 4 gigs of ram dedicated to minecraft.

Thanks!
Nick

you should be getting an easy 300-800 fps no problem on minecraft, try to make it so minecraft uses the default amount of ram so uncheck the JVM arguments(i think thats what its called) on the launcher then check, miecraft doesnt need 4 gigs of ram

when someone has performance issues this bad its normally the in game settings or a game problem, optifine is meant to improve performance not fix fps problems in minecraft like that low of fps

also, make sure v sync is off and make sure your framerate isnt capped in the settings, check all your settings and turn render distance all the way down then all the way up, if your fps doesnt change when render distance is changed then it probably a problem with a mod installation or you changed the settings and some how messed it up
