Recently, my computer was being very slow, so I went into task manager to see what was up, and my computer was using 6.5/8 gb ram on the desktop! Although, under processes, it said the most ram using process was chrome.exe, with 150mb, and it just went down from there, definetly not adding up to 6.5. I ran a virus scan and a reboot, it worked for a while, but 2 hours later i was using 4.6gb ram and climbing with no reason why. Does anyone on here have any idea why this could be, if so please help

There is a reason... its called file cashing. Use perfmon to see is it actually free or available ram. If its free that is hitting low but available is still high then its the case.
Even copying 4GB+ files from one drive to another can drop that value to near 0... its how OS is working since Windows Vista, comparing to Windows XP. Now OS's tends to use all free memory for something, but it doesn't mean it can't be wiped and ready when needed for more important process.

No thats not it, i checked and available is currently 3215mb remaining, which lines up with the 4.7gb task manager claims it is using. Also, I have no running processes aside from perfmon and task manager at the moment.
