High RAM usage but nothing using it.

Hey!

I have Windows 8.1 64x PC with 12 GB RAM.
My system is using almost all the memory i have but in the Task manager all processes add up to only 2.6 GB or something.
First when i faced this problem it happened really randomly and only sometimes but now it starts when ever i start my computer.
I have run full computer virus check and it did'n find anything.

you showing processes from all users? or just your own? cant tell from picture..

But windows will look to use all mem .. all the time.. it will be trying to anticipate what may be required.. and also - not free progs in memory in case it needed again.. most of this should be of no concern to you.. if it needs mem - it will get rid of the least used to make room.

Windows own memory view tools (in task manager) hides this action and just shows you what its actually in use... so what is telling you you are using all your mem?

Hi Yoji and everyone else also!

After posting i continued doing research about the problem an i found this software called RAMMap. So i decided to give it a try and run it. It showed what is using RAM and there was this page table using 6GB. So I googled it and found out it was some sort of temp file that should be in the hard drive. But my HD was almost full so the system reserved space from my RAM. So I cleaned my HD and now it's working like a dream again.
