higher end graphics cards...lower clock speed

Why is it that when you get in the higher amd cards, the base clock gets lower? Whats making up for the difference? The stream processors and shaders?

Hello... High end GPU's and Lower end GPU's can use the same GPU chip in them... But there are more Parallel Processing units turned on/active in them, and this could cause more heat, thus they must reduce the heat created, by downclocking the core.
