Higher RAM Frequency for overclocked CPU

Hi guys!

I want to upgrade my laptop RAM and I was looking to get one with a higher frequency (MHz), currently I have 2x4gb at 2133MHz (Dual channel).
My laptop has been overclocked to 4.0GHz. Is it efficient to upgrade to 1x16gb 3200MHz (or 2x8gb 3200MHz)?
I read somewhere that if the RAM frequency is lower than the CPU’s it might be downgraded by the CPU to match,
but since my CPU is overclocked I’m not sure if a higher RAM frequency will complement it.

My system:
Intel Core i7-6820HK CPU @2.70Ghz (overclocked to 4.0Ghz).
Installed RAM: DDR4 8GB (Max 32GB)

Thanks in advance

Solution
For Intel platforms (and especially laptops), an appropriate quantity of system memory is going to be more beneficial than a given speed.

As for CPU speed and memory speed, there's no direct correlation at all.
