So im planning to get a new moniter for my gtx 1070. I am unable to decide wether i should get a 1080p 144hz moniter or a 1440p 60/75 hz moniter. Since the 1070 cannot run games like far cry 5 on ultra at 60+ fps on 1440p, i dont okan to get a 1440p 144hz moniter. Need other opiojs on this.

Solution
Text and desktop may look slightly blurry if your going with 1080P on a 1440P monitor however games still typically look pretty good. You could go 1440P/60 or 75hz and just lower the settings slightly, what is your budget for a monitor?

But i cant afford those expensive moniters plus doesnt using 1080p on a 1440p moniter look worse?

I actually live in pakistan and tech prices sre kinda retarded here but i’d say about 500$. I’ve never used a high refresh rate moniter before so idk what it feels like

Well from personal experience I've used a 1080P/144hz monitor, 2560x1080P/75hz ultrawide and a 4K/60hz/HDR HDTV. Out of the three I prefer the ultrawide with a slightly faster refresh rate but it also really comes down to the types of games you play. For more competitive FPS I'd go 1080P/144hz but for less competitive games and single player games the ultra wide is my favorite. The 4K HDTV is fun but I like having the extra peripheral of the ultrawide (I mainly got my 4K TV for the PS4 Pro anyways).

My question is, is 1440p worth more than a higher refresh rate, i mostly like single player games besides overwatch but i do plan to play BO4 and battlefield v multiplayer,
