The drive is however DRAM-less and instead uses HMB.

M.2 2230 SSDs being DRAM-less and using HMB is the rule, so this is kind of like saying "wet water." There is just one series that is the exception, and it's the one inside of SK Hynix's Tube T31 and various third-party products internally.

Hey guys are WiFi m.2 slots x2 or x1? If they’re x2 I think it may still be worth it to slap these in those slots if you’re using Ethernet and want more than 4TB of storage space(since most mobos have two storage m.2 slots and drives get worse GB per dollar past 2TB).

M.2 type-E is two lanes of x1 + USB 480Mbps
The slot is keyed so you can't jam a type B or M SSD in it. If you even attempt that, it'll likely fry the SSD.
