Ho do you reset windows 10 (keep ALL files)

Hi I need to reset windows 10 and i know how from the settings but i want to try and do it without deleting ANY of my personal files eg: steam games (local drive). I need to know how to select hat you don't want deleted.

also simply copying my local drive to an external HD didnt work either ive tried that in the past

How do you mean 'reset windows'

Re-install Windows with your DVD media? If you want to re-install you can copy your entire users profile to an external hard drive for backup.. This includes things such as Documents, Favourites, Desktop Icons, Picture, Music etc. You can find thins under:

c:\users\<Logon User Name>

By reset i mean settings > update and security > Revocery > Reset this pc but it only keeps some of my files i wan to keep all of them Mainly my program files

You can't. Steam files and data files (documents, videos, music, etc...) can be saved to an alternate location and restored, but any programs that were installed will need to be reinstalled once the OS reset is complete.
