Is anyone here into hobby grade RC? I currently have a 1/16 brushless E-Revo with a few upgrades which has been collecting dust for a while now. I'm looking to get back into RC and maybe buy a Losi short course.

I'm into model aircraft, have been since a boy over 25 years ago. My advice is join a club first, the development in batteries, motors and servos in recent years has been phenomenal. You will want to ensure you get something competitive and race legal. Also there can be cheaper ways of buying these days with massive savings and if picking the right items very high quality for that price http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/index.asp
I've always been a huge fan of RC but honestly could never really afford it. I did invest into a Honey Bee CP2 and upgraded it quite a bit but eventually sold it because it was costing more in replacement parts than what the heli was worth.

ed: was looking for some good videos of it but they are all super low quality. Was good for some acrobatics and upside-down flight though. I put a nice aluminum rotor head on it and built a custom steel frame to help with the cost. But yea even then with so many moving critical parts... even he aluminum head eventually broke in a nasty crash.

There is Tower Hobbies as well (http://www.towerhobbies.com/) although their site looks like something straight out of the 90s.

How is hobby king? I don't think i've ever looked there.

Tower Hobbies used to have a TOWER Trainer 60 that I wanted. Looks like they don't sell it anymore. In fact it looks like they no longer sell the complete ARF kit (.40 or .60) with radio and engine +everything else except fuel.

It might be catalog only perhaps? I haven't gotten one from them in like 15 years.

Are you going to be racing, or just bashing it around? I only have 2 RC's myself, but got out of racing last year, since I was busy with some other things. I have a slash and a Losi MT 10, I believe is what it is called. In my opinion they both are great trucks. I am deciding between getting a 1/8th scale buggy or starting out and experimenting with RC planes. They both are fun, but so expensive.
