Home built computer first startup No Bootable device found.

Building a computer for he first time and I have ran into a few problems Everything i have fixed following this

(the only step i did not perform was breadboarding.)

When i start up the computer it displays it runs a small black screen with white writing 5 or so lines down it says no device found this screen closes, then opens to infinity 2.2 gb and then goes to a black screen the says "No Bootable Device, press any key to restart"

MotherBoard: MSI760GMA-P34(fx)
Processor: AMD FX6300
Ram: Kingston HyperX 8GB (4GB x 2)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon r9 280 3gb
PSU: XFX TS 550w
Hard Drive: a 2TB Toshiba / 1 tb WD


I Have Done
1. when i first saw the problem i assumed it was the hard drive so i am returning the original hard drive and i bought the 2 TB once the 2 TB was plugged in the same problem persisted.

Edit: Forgot to add i get one Short beep at start up.

Go into bios when you power up (keep pressing del)

Is your HDD detected in your bios? Are you SATA cables properly seated in the motherboard and the HDD? Make sure you have no usb connected or CDs in the PC as it may be trying to boot from these.

I just want to make sure beforehand, but have you loaded all the drivers onto the mobo provided by the manufacturer? The BIOS comes preloaded and a disk should be supplied that has the drivers you need in order start installing even the hard drives. After that I would think it is just a formatting issue with the hard drive. I had to format my Seagate drive since it did not come in the pre-setup kit version.

Go into your bios and make the cd/dvd drive the primary drive, then set your harddrive to the second drive. Place you windows disc in the try and hit F10 and save settings. when the computer reboots it will go through a load screen and black window will show up that says hit any key to boot from cd\dvd drive, some little dots will start to appear. At this time you want to hit enter to start to install windows on the computer.

As for right now with a new computer your harddrive does not have an OS on it so when it tries to boot it cant find anything to boot to.

I feel profoundly dumb. I assumed I had to wait for it to tell me to openbios
