Hi Guys,

I'm looking for decent gaming RIG not very costly.

I Have a budget of about 40000-50000 INR Around 720-850.00 USD

Please note that I intend to buy my components from India which would make them about 30% costlier that what is available on newegg. I have posted the new egg prices as most ppl have used that as reference for this forum

Need to know if I can get any other component to save cost and still play games without over heating my system. Do not want to overclock.

What kind of a cabinet should i get.

Also would like to know if the system would survive atleast 2-3 years of use without any problems. I cant afford to spend like this every year.

I normally play games C9, League of legends, and games like NFS and Assasins Creed,
MAX Payne 3. I want a system that could support new game release for the next 2 years atleast.

Processor: AMD FX 4100
cost: 110$ NE, 6600 INR
MotherBoard: ASUS M5A97 ATX AM3+socket AMD 970 Chipset
Cost 100$ NE, 6700 INR
Graphics Cards: Asus NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti 1 GB DDR5 Graphics Card
Cost: 220$ NE, 16000 INR
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM (CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9). will increase to anither 4 gb after a couple of months
Cost: 25$, 1700 INR
HDD: WD Caviar Green 2TB HDD ---Not on New egg
Cost: 6200 INR, Approx 111.00 USD
PSU: Corsair CMPSU 600W
Cost: 5300 INR 95.00 USD


The total cost for the above components totals about 43000 INR or 655.00 USD.

Your build will work.

You have correctly budgeted 2x the cost of your cpu for the graphics card. My rule of thumb.
The graphics card is the most important component for the gamer.

As an option, consider a Intel i3 of some sort instead of the FX-4100.
Intel has faster cores which help more than added cores. Read this, for instance:

A G860 or i3-2100 can cost less and be just as effective.
Without overclocking any socket 1155 motherboard will do. H61 based motherboards can be very inexpensive.

Buy your 8gb ram kit up front.
Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards can be very sensitive to this.
That is why ram vendors will not support ram that is not bought in one kit.
Although, I think the problem has lessened with the newer Intel chipsets. Still,
it is safer to get what you need in one kit.

If you go the AMC FX-4100 route, you will want two sticks for dual channel operation and DDR3-1600 ram. AMD is sensitive to ram speed.
If you go Intel, which has a superb ram controller, the needs are less, and 1333 ram will perform equally as well.

A cabinet(I call it a case) needs to be large enough to hold your motherboard and parts. Past that, it is one of the better places to economize. Antec makes good quality cases that are reasonable. Look for the 100.200/300 series.

I checked the Intel I3-2100.. changing to the I3 and getting a compatible mother board that I like is Increasing the total cost of my system by around 5000 INR which would leave me a little short on cash while choosing a cabinet (case for the components)

I use the below sites as a reference!! I checked the Intel I3-2100 and the I3-2120.
How ever I will be checking my local It market for prices before i decide to buy.

The 2nd 3rd gen I3 processors need a H77/Z77 chipset to work well. All the ASUS boards in that ranges are 10000 INR plus.
I am a little biased towards ASUS boards cause i have used 1 for the past 3.5 years without any problems.

This would cost me 48032 INR and If I replace that with the Micro ATX board i Would get it for 41000. INR Means I could still get the 2 TB HDD

I don't think I would buy that particular cm psu.
The user reviews are negative, and this review of the smaller unit was not good:

For a similar price, I think I would pick the Seasonic ECO 600w unit for just a bit more at 4341:
