Hi All,

I'm currently in the process of installing Ethernet cabling in my new home (Old house but new to me).

I'm having the home Ethernet wired for home automation which all return back to a central server.

I also have LAN connections installed to various points in the home.

Additionally I'm having CCTV installed.

Both the Home Automation System (Loxone) and CCTV will have remote access via mobile and laptop. so I needs a way of securing these entry points. Home Automation control access to the house aswell, so don't want this hacked.

I was thinking of getting a VPN router (something like a DD RWT), but I'm not sure if this is enough for my needs?

The other added complication is that I work from home a couple of days a week, and connect to my office via a company specific VPN (cisco client). This is only done from my dedicated work laptop.

Please can you suggest a suitable way of securing my network, but also to allow me to connect to my office?

Kindest Regards

Adam
