Home premium x64 to Pro x34

Hello,
I am attempting to install an Autocad release 14 program on Windows 7 Home Premium (x64). My understanding is that I should update to Windows Pro, and use the XP option. Is the XP option compatible with x34? or do I need to get a Pro x34 and do a clean format? I also heard that downloading an Oracle VB binary exe for windows hosts will work. Is this correct?

...there is no "XP option." You just upgrade your Windows 7 Home Premium x64 to Windows 7 Professional x64 using the Anytime Upgrade option in Windows 7.

there is an "xp" option.... It's available with Pro, Ultimate and Enterprise and is intended for use on programs that were designed to run with windows xp.

You can install 64 bit or 32 as long as it's pro or higher. Not sure what your asking with the x34 ? If your meaning 32 bit by the x34 it's actually represented as x86 😉.

Your talking about XP mode. You keep your existing Win7 install and install XP mode alongside for apps that are not Win7 compatible, but is only for Pro or Ultimate.
