Question Thinkpad L15 Motherboard Replacement

Hi.

I'm thinking of replacing my L15 Gen 1 motherboard to an AMD one, I have a Intel 10310u and pretend to switch to R3 4450 or R5 4500.

Can it be done? Is the size the same? The heatsink works in both systems?

Laptop motherboards are almost never interchangeable.
Especially among different sockets and CPU brands.

Better option:
Sell the current laptop as is, buy what you want.

Why are you in need of a motherboard swap? Swapping motherboards will require you to buy another license key for your OS if you're working with Windows 10 or 11.

If the images are like for like to what you've posted above in your initial post, they look identical...but I wouldn't gauge my advice on a motherboard swap based off of visual references. You could ask the seller about similarities between the AMD and Intel platforms but I'd do that only if I was very desperate. On another note, I don't see a need to swap the motherboard or platform.

As my colleague above has stated, don't tamper with the laptop, sell it and then get something from the other camp or another platform entirely.
