I dont know if this can be answered.

i am looking for one of those home security systems that alert you via your cell phone and any recommendations if anyone can
I am looking for my brothers house he does the renascence stuff and is gone a lot in the summer.

So if anyone can fire off suggestions and experience I would be very grateful and i might even offer up my first and second born but that's more like a threat they are PURE evil girls I have lol.

P.S. Toms Hardware ROCKS

Solution
Almost ALL of the current systems do this.

Budget?
Number of cameras?
Wired or WiFi? (personally, I think a WiFi security camera is a BAD idea)
Own or rent?
Inside or outside?
Static camera(s), or PTZ?

OK...I have a 4 camera system (8 cam capable)
4 wired cameras, that connect to a teeny box, basically a little PC/DVR.
Was about $180.
Connects to the house LAN.
4 x outside cameras.
Yes, it does all that notification/email stuff to your phone or whatever.

IR, motion detection, auto uploading to wherever you want, email, etc, etc...

Wireless is, IMHO, useless. It still needs power. Which means a wire. So why the WiFi?
WiFi just increases the attack surface. And WiFi only talks within a very short range, just like any other WiFi. 100 feet , maybe.

Now....the motion detection is VERY hard to get right.
You want it to trigger on a person size moving object, but maybe not the mailman. Or the shadow of a passing cloud. Or a bush blowing in the wind.
Or rain, snow, dust, pollen....all trigger the motion detection.

Takes a lot of tweaking.

Secondly, resolution. Yes, that is a 'person'. Adult, probably male. For the inexpensive systems, unless you are quite close to the cam, can't tell.
License plates? Anything more than 15-20 feet...not readable.
Better resolution costs $$$.

At night? IR? Hello, Mr. Spider. Yes, this happens almost daily.

What these systems are good for is deterrence. Visible cameras and signs would lead someone to attack the neighbors house instead of my house.

This is similar to the system I have:
https://www.lorextechnology.com/hd-dvr-security-system/720p-4-security-camera-system-with-digital-video-recorder-/LHD44-1-p
2 cams in the front, 2 in the back. Eventually I may add a couple more.
