Hey guys, Im currently building a server for my sister. I have tried a couple of netgear wireless adapters, one would work in windows 7 pro but not in home server 2011. My question is, does anyone know if the D-Link DWA-548 or Edimax EW-7612PIN are compatible in Home Server 2011. I was thinking of using the ASUS PCE-N15 but after reading a few user complaints in Tom's hardware, have decided not to go down that path. When my sister wants to copy files to the server she will be hard wiring through USB3 and using the wireless to issue commands not transferring files. I live in Australia and generally shop at PCCasegear on line but as she is on a budget I can't very well buy 2 or three cards and hope for the best. Anyhow any input will be welcome, she is using 802.11g, the motherboard is my old Asus Sabertooth X58 and her router is a netcomm (not sure of the model). Thanks in advance.

Why wifi? Can't you connect the server via network cable to the router. Servers are usually not set up to work wirelessly; therefore, it is hard to find drivers that will work.

Have you tried to use Win8 drivers, or install the drivers in compatibility mode?

Hey Emerald, how are you? And thank you for taking the time to answer my question. The main problem is, it's my sister's home the server is to be installed in. Lack of space, money and old hardware which isn't supported. The server will be put out of the way and I'm too old to be climbing around in roofs installing cables. I did end up buying the d-link DWA-548 but the supplied driver was hopeless and the D-Link website only had one other driver which wasn't any better. I ended up on a mission, googleing and finding a few forums where all I found was more disappointed users until one pointed to a D-Link site in Taiwan which had drivers from XP to Windows 10. There was a Win7 64bit driver in the package which worked a treat. Thanks for your time, problem solved.
My home is fully networked to each room with cat6 cabling and gigabit hardware which I had installed when I had the house built in 2007.
