Horrible alarm noise when stressing graphics card. Please help!

A couple of weeks ago I built myself a new system. MSI Z87I motherboard, Intel i5-4670k, 16GB (8x2) Crucial Ballistix Tactical RAM, Gigabyte GTX 770 2GB Windforce OC graphics card, NZXT Kraken x40 closed loop cooler, Corsair CX750M 750W PSU, and the usual other boring peripherals, all crammed into a BitFenix Prodigy. The system booted fine, Windows 7 Pro SP1 installed fine, and everything apparently worked fine. As I was using a brand new system, for the first day or two I was mainly surfing the net and installing programs and games - nothing taxing on the graphics card. The system's drivers are all current (MSI's Live Update 5 is fantastic), and the BIOS is updated to the latest version (1.30). The system is currently running GeForce 327.23 graphics drivers. It wasn't until the second or third day I encountered a problem.

Any time the graphics card is under load the system generates a horrible, screeching alarm. I'll post a link to a Youtube video of the issue below. As soon as the card is stressed, the computer wails (the sound is from an internal component, not the speaks), and as soon as the stress is gone, the computer is fine. The display is perfectly fine - no stuttering, artifacting, etc. Temperatures and voltages all look fine - the issue is independent of either parameter or fan speed. Thinking I might have somehow gotten a lemon of a card, I RMA'd it back to Newegg (who were awesome as usual) and have been just using the CPU's Intel HD 4600 on-board graphics. Today my replacement card was delivered and I tore the system apart, installed it, booted up, and ran into the same issue. Thinking it may be a power issue (though 750W should be far more than needed), I purchased a Seasonic M12II 850W PSU a few days ago due to a fantastic deal on Newegg, which also was delivered today. So, I tore my system back apart, installed that, booted back up, and still have the issue. The card has been re-seated multiple times, both the 8-pin and 6-pin PCI-E connectors are plugged in, the motherboard has the auxiliary 4-pin CPU connector plugged in, and everything works fine when not under graphics load. I'm at my wits end as to what it could be. Any help or insight into the matter would be appreciated.

Once again, thank you in advance. I do accidentally swear once or twice, so be weary if kids are about. The Youtube video can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zlcs3Z3KTts

Solution
Is your computer plugged into a battery backup? If so make sure that you are not triggering the battery backup under full load. Happened to my friend, it can happen to you! :bounce:

EDIT: After watching your video is DEFINITELY sounds like a battery backup being tripped.

The sound is nearly deafening. From everything I've read or watched online there's no way it's coil whine. Thank you for the quick response.

You are 100% correct. I can't believe it was something so simple that also got overlooked when asking for help in other forums. You're my hero! Thank you for the prompt response and easy solution. Now I just have to mend my pride.

Haha glad I could help🙂

Enjoy your rig!

Thanks a lot for posting and getting this solved. Ran into the same issue today. The battery backup was too close to my PC so I wasn't able to tell what is giving the alarm!
