Got a psu making a hell of a fun sound as per URL.
Contacted customer support and rma shipping is $100 and 10+ days there, review time, then returned to me.
So really $100 and a month without my PC. Eww.

Wondering if I could just slap somethung on it to shut it up.

that's blade contact. like a tab of paper sticking up and contacting the blades as they spin. just barely touching.

sounds like blade contact, the fast repetitive ticking.
what model unit do you have now? is it a SFX unit? (small form Factor)

...could also be arcing.

Rm850x white corsair.
Fans never really spin other than startup test. It sounds more like a constant electricity buzz, it's painfully hard to capture the audio

if its arcing disable the lights you may be able to see if there are any arc flashes.

can't dicern any lights in there
but then again i can't take it apart because of the warranty sticker.
prolly just a coil wire that's hummed loose and needs something to hold it down
but i dunno if its safe to diy it, beside the fact its a psu, like would it work afterward
