Question How Bad Did i mess up?

So I was building a Pc with my dad's help and he accidentally put the 8 pin PCIe into the CPU socket. When I turned the computer on the only thing that came on was the ram did I kill the mobo cause I did hear a quick beep then it went away. for reference it was the EVGA g3 750w and the aorus x570 elite wifi

Disconnect everything and inspect the board for any burn/scorch marks. You might also want to keep your nose on alert for smells of any burnt componentry on the motherboard and the PSU side. If you're unsure of what you're looking at, parse images, once you've hosted them on a site like Imgur or their ilk.

One more note, the connector shouldn't be able to go in, since their notches are different, last I checked.
