I want to buy this monitor Dell U2713HM but I see on the review that it have 22ms input lag(1-2 frames delay), I just want some fed back from other users that have a monitor with similar input lag and tell me how much of an issue is on games(fps games especially).

well, i used to play ps3 on a very large tv, and there was about like 20ms lag, and you get used to it but it gives the other players 20ms to kill you before you even see them and can react. If there are setting on he monitor to turn off the video processing then you might be clear

Everything I'm reading says that monitor has an 8ms response time. Where are you seeing 22ms?

Thats the response rate, hes talking input lag, as in when he moves his mouse, there is a 22ms delay from when he moves it to when it moves on the screen.

Oh yes, of course. I personally don't notice it at all, even in fast-paced FPS, and I believe my U3011 has an even greater input lag.

about the same

the problem is that I don't know what is the input lag of my current monitor(Samsung SyncMaster T260) to compare.

As long as you're within 33ms (two refresh cycles) I honestly wouldn't worry. TFT Central would give that a B ranking with a description along the lines of "fast for most people except professional gamers" or something. Is it possible to try it in a shop and see for yourself?

Okay, well so the answer is yes and no, its your opinion....if its bad then you can try to turn the video enhancing off, or get a dfferent monitor

TN panel monitors like your Samsung typically has no more than 8ms of input lag.

Since a typical LCD monitor operates at 60Hz, that means it can display up to 60 frames per second. That basically means 16.67ms of lag is 1 frame of lag (1 second / 60Hz or 1,000ms / 60Hz).

Therefore, a typical TN panel will have 0.5 frame lag; in my opinion. 22ms input lag means about 1.3 frame lag. I believe I read somewhere that a typical HDTV has around 25ms - 40ms of input lag so if you have played any console games on a HDTV, then you ought to be able assess if 22ms of input lag is noticeable.
