When the retailers promo the HDs on sale, if you don't be there eariler, you won't get it, but now, it seems everyone has enough HD in their system because even at last min, you still can get the promo HDs; for example, fry's is promo the WD RAPTOR 36GB with 5-years Warranty for 99.99 us dollars with 30 dollars mailing rebate; it is so cheap, but when I got there on the last promo day, there still has lots of harddrive waiting for buyer. that make me want to ask the question " what total capacity do you have in your system?"

I got two seagate 200GB HD + one WD raptor 36GB= 436GB

30 + 80 = 110Gb

New system will have:

120 * 2 (RAID 0) + 80 = 320Gb

1st system 2x120Gig in RAID0 = 240Gig
2nd system 80Gig
3rd system 20+15Gig In RAID0 = 30Gig
+one 10Gig hard drive with windows 98 lying around.
Total = 360Gig

2x IBM gxp120 80GB HDD's ( Raid 0 )
2x Maxtor Fluid 80GB HDD's ( Raid 0 )
1x 200GB Maxtor Fluid for backup

total 4*80+200=520GB = 0.52 TB

1x74GB WD740GB +
6x40GB 6LO40J2 RAID5(1hot spare) 160GB +

Main HD (OS) is 80GB and 2 other HDs in RAID 0 (160GB each) ~320GB.

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

36 gig Raptor as a boot drive
80 gig 7200 RPM for data.

Or roughly 116,000,000,000 bytes!

1st system
1 Western Digital - 250GB
3 Maxtor - 750GB
2 Maxtor at raid 0 - 500GB

2nd system (spare)
1 Maxtor - 250GB
4 Maxtor - 240GB

Great for downloading anime and encoding media.

System1:
2 * IBM 18.3Gb SCSI160's on Adaptec 29160 card, boot drives.
4 * WDC-1200JB's on raid 0+1
1 * WDC-800JB
Total of 334Gb usable size.

If I took the raid 0+1 array away it would be 556Gb!

Sorry, my drive is only 36GB...

That is, 12 36GB U160 15,000RPM drives in RAID50 with 16MB cache on each drive and 256MB cache on the controller. And after RAID BIOS has loaded, the system boots in around 8 seconds.

And if you believe all that...

30 + 80 = 110Gb

I've just updated now. Installed a Wireless network between mine and my dad's PC (Sneakly have full access to his HD) SO technically I now have:

30 + 30 + 80 = 140GB

1x74gig Raptor
2x250gig Maxtor II PATA

Fixing to order:
1x250gig Maxtor II PATA for a total of 3+1 = 574gig data storage....
1xNetcell SyncRAID 8 port PATA RAID controller.

I don't need enormous drive space, just enough.
