I need help, ever since I used a portable pocket wifi. My laptop cannot directly connect to a network or even automatically connect to an available network. Every time I click on the wifi icon on the task bar, not a single network is seen. It always says "No network available" when in my phone there is. I was hoping may be I can google for answers on solving this, and perhaps you can help me with this. I already read about how to connect to the wifi without using any ethernet cable. But the problem is, there's no button that has any wifi icon on it. Please respond quickly, our deadline for a report in english is due tomorrow and I can't make one without the wifi. Please.

Hello!

Joe Porter makes a very good point about enabling the WiFi on the laptop. In addition to an FN key enabling wifi; there may also be a hardware switch located somewhere on the laptop that can enable and disable wifi. This could potentially be the issue, but I'll throw out another possible solution as well.

You said you used a "portable pocket wifi." We can check right away to see if your wifi is enabled or not.

1. Go to Control Panel (Start -> Control Panel)
2. Open Network and Sharing Center (If you don't see it, switch the view to "Small icons" in the top right corner)
3. On the side panel on the left, click on Change adapter settings.
4. Look for "Wireless Network Connection"

5. If this shows up as disabled, enable it by right clicking and selecting Enable
