I have a laptop with 1 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort mini. I thought of connecting the HDMI to one and the DP to the other would cause sync issues, probably because of different wire types or something. (I have no idea) Please correct me if I am wrong or if there’s a more efficient method, as I am new to this.

Thank you to everyone in advance.

Generally speaking, laptops usually only support one external monitor.
Wanting two needs a dedicated docking station.

Of course your laptop might be one of the few that supports two externals.
What does your user manual say?

But if it does support two, one being HDMI and one being DP is not an issue.
Wow, I appreciate the extremely speedy response. :)
Looking here at the manual, it shows that it is capable of supporting 1 HDMI 2.0 , and 1 DP Mini 1.4, so my assumption is that it is capable to supporting them together since it is a quite newer model laptop.
